We have come a long way
We have made great progress over the past few years with growing the club.
Courts are often fully booked during peak hours, Monday nights are getting busy and our WhatsApp group has been more active than ever.
And more importantly, we have grown our most valuable asset, our community.
Thank you all for being part of our journey so far.
We have had our challenges
Over the past few years we have had various challenges which have reduced our full potential to manage and grow the club.
Last year we struggled with raising enough cash to fund our competitive teams as well as pay for our courts in Squash Social, delaying payments until we could afford them.
We also had various challenges with managing the club due to lack of systems, time and appropriate processes.
However, we smash our challenges harder than our opponents
We have been working hard behind the scenes to make a bunch of positive changes which will help put Glossop Squash in a position to not only grow, but thrive.
I’m struggling to put into words how excited I am for the future of Glossop Squash!
We secured a grant
Sport England have awarded us a grant to develop squash in our local community.
We can use this grant to purchase required equipment, hire professional coaches and pay for courts.
We launched new coaching sessions
We have expanded Friday night coaching into multiple sessions to support more audiences including adult beginners, intermediate/advanced and juniors.
We are working together
We are actively defining roles and spreading the workload over various members of our community that want to contribute.
This makes it much easier to run and support the club for its future growth.

We have a new website
Our modern website will help us raise awareness for the Club and it will become part of our toolkit to welcome new members into our community.
The site will also provide a solid foundation for management of club activities and membership.
We have a new challenge ladder
The challenge ladder is available to all members and replaces the old paper ladder at the club.
The new online ladder offers integration into WhatsApp and Squash Levels as well as allowing you to set your profile picture.
Results are live on the website for everyone to see.
Note that the old ladder will not be migrated automatically, you will need to register for the new ladder.
We created a WhatsApp Community
For a while now we have been using a single group for all general chat, announcements, match finding and more.
However, we are expecting to grow and with this growth comes a challenge to keep things organised.
WhatsApp Communities allows us to create multiple topics in a single place as well as a separate official announcement section.
You can set custom notifications on each topic depending on your preferences so you only get notified for topics that are important to you.
We changed our membership model
To combat cashflow issues and to raise the money required to fund our ongoing club activities, we have released a new recurring membership model supported by a professional payment system.
Membership can be paid monthly or yearly, depending on your preference.
We have also made improvements to the membership benefits.
